Endoscopic Exam Information Sheet

Dear Client,

Your horse has been scheduled for an upcoming Endoscopic exam in the near future. In our attempt to assist Clients we have put together this sheet to make his procedure as easy and stress-free as possible.

Please provide a phone number that we can best reach you on the day of this procedure.


Upper Respiratory Endoscopic Exam

No prep is is necessary. Fedd and water your horse as you normally would.

 

The night before your horse’s Gastroscopic( Stomach) Exam

  • No hay/grass or grain past 9pm
  • No Water after 9pm
  • if you currently administering any medication, supplements, or injections please withhold the morning doses unless otherwise instructed by the doctor

 

Anesthetic procedures

 we use a combination of sedation to achieve optimum levels of sedation that are safe for your horse. An injectable anesthetic is given alone that produces a good plane of sedation with a quick recovery.

It is important for you to understand that there is always a risk of anesthetic and procedure complications anytime they are performed. We strike to take the highest quality care for your horse and take all the added precautions to avoid potential problems.
